From a Town

Excited by exploring new opportunities for narrative animation made possible by NFT technology, I conceived of the From A Town series. Inspired by the work of artists like Gregory Crewdson and Norman Rockwell the series aimed to explore the maximum amount of narrative that could be revealed through very short character portraits/moments. By providing glimpses into the characters that inhabit the titular town, I invite the viewer to participate, using their own imagination to complete the portrait and develop their own narrative of the relationships and stories that could take place between the characters they are introduced to. While animation is typically a team sport, this ultra-short format allowed me to work alone and approach animation as a fine art practice. This project led to opportunities to create commissioned works, and to collaborations with artists from the museum and gallery space.
